Kwangju Foreign School Mission Statement

Kwangju Foreign School stands on the pillars of character and knowledge. We build well-rounded thinkers and problem solvers with a life-long love of learning. Supporting academic and personal needs, KFS strives for students to be effective communicators who can work individually and collaboratively. While strengthening Korean cultural ties and an understanding of their own identity, KFS strives to create active community members who will succeed in an increasingly globalized society.

Kwangju Foreign School is an Accredited School

The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), a 501(c) (3) organization, is recognized as one of six regional associations that accredit public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the United States; and American/international schools or colleges residing overseas.

The Western region covers institutions in California and Hawaii, the territories of Guam, American Samoa, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, the Pacific Basin, and East Asia.

Kwangju Foreign School has been accredited by the Western Association of Schools or Colleges since 2005.  Accreditation benefits the school community by providing a structured ongoing school improvement process and validating our school program.  Additionally, accreditation results in transcript recognition by other kinder-grade 12 academic institutions, colleges, and universities around the world.
